8 Step Process
>This application consists of 8 steps. You will be asked to provide information such as your name, birth date, citizenship and other biographical information. You will also be required to provide information regarding the flight training that you are requesting. As you complete each step, the website will automatically move you forward to the next step. It is important that you hit the "Save Record" button at the bottom of the screen before you proceed to the next step. The progress tabs at the left of your screen allow you to review any portion of your application throughout the process. We strongly advise you not to use your web browser's page forward and backward arrows; this may cause data loss or program failure.
>After completing your application, the Transportation Security Administration (TSA) will notify the flight school that you have submitted your application. The flight school will verify that you have made arrangements to train at that school. Once TSA has verified your information with the flight training provider, you will receive email instructions on how to pay the $130 processing fee to TSA. TSA will not issue any fee refunds, unless a fee was paid in error.
>At this point in the application process, you are nearly complete. Your next step in the process is based on your training category:
>If you are a Flight Training Candidate Category 3 and have paid your $130 processing fee, TSA will notify you via email that you will need to submit your fingerprints. This email will provide further instructions for submitting your fingerprints. Once TSA has received your fingerprints, you will receive another email message that TSA has received your fingerprints and that you may begin your flight training immediately. If you have received TSA approval to receive flight training in the past and you have submitted fingerprints to TSA in the past, then you DO NOT need to submit fingerprints again. TSA will transfer your fingerprints to the new training request for you.
>If you have questions throughout the application process please view the Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) or Application Guide.
